The World Peace EP emerged from Deep Root in 2006 as a collaborative reggae project featuring various artists united by a shared vision of positive messaging through dub and dancehall sounds. This 10-inch vinyl captures the label's commitment to authentic Caribbean music during a period when roots reggae and dub were experiencing renewed appreciation among vinyl collectors.
The EP opens with "Praises," a three-minute-and-forty-six-second track that sets a meditative tone before "Screaming Terror" introduces harder dancehall elements at just over three minutes. The flip side showcases the album's thematic centerpiece with "World Peace," a four-minute-and-nineteen-second anthem that gives the release its name. The inclusion of "World Peace Dub," a four-minute-and-fifty-one-second instrumental remix, demonstrates the classic reggae tradition of reinterpreting vocal tracks through studio effects and bass-heavy production.
