Beastie Boys
Show Vinyl 2 - Paul's Boutique

Listening notes

Released in 1998 on the Beastie Boys' own Grand Royal label, Show Vinyl 2 - Paul's Boutique (catalog number BB-SV 2) is a vinyl release drawing from the group's 1989 album Paul's Boutique. The release carries the hip hop genre designation and presents nine tracks spread across two sides.

Side A opens with "Shake Your Rump" at 3:18, followed by "Egg Man" at 2:57, "Shadrach" at 3:40, and "Car Thief" at 3:37, giving the first side a total runtime of just under fourteen minutes. Side B collects five tracks: "Hello Brooklyn" (1:30), "A Year And A Day" (2:15), "Sounds Of Science" (1:25), "High Planes Drifter" (4:28), and "Lookin' Down A Barrel" (3:35). The sequencing on Side B differs from the original Paul's Boutique album sequence, though the specific curatorial reasoning behind this selection and ordering is not documented in the available information.

The release is the second entry in what the catalog number and title together suggest was a series of show-related vinyl releases under the Grand Royal imprint, though details about the broader series are beyond what the available facts can confirm. Grand Royal, founded by the Beastie Boys, served as the label home for a range of releases during the 1990s.

No personnel, pressing, or production details are confirmed for this specific release, and any claims in those areas would require independent verification before publication.
