Chris Karns
Visual Vinyl Volume 2

Listening notes

Chris Karns released Visual Vinyl Volume 2 in 2018 on a self-released basis, with no label affiliation and no assigned catalog number. The record falls within the DJ battle tool and hip hop genres, positioning it as a functional resource for turntablists rather than a conventional listening release.

The tracklist spans three entries on the A side. "Numbers (1-8)" opens the record, followed by "Drums (66.6 BPM)," which incorporates a specific tempo designation directly into its title. The third track, "Aaahhh Fresh," closes out the listed side. No track durations are documented for any of the three selections, and no information is available here regarding additional sides or further track listings beyond what is noted above.

The self-released nature of the record, absent any label infrastructure or catalog numbering, is consistent with how specialized DJ tools have sometimes circulated within turntablist communities, though no specific distribution details for this release are confirmed here. The "Visual Vinyl" title suggests this may be one entry in a broader series, with the Volume 2 designation implying at least one preceding release, though details of any other volumes are not confirmed within the verified facts for this record.

The 2018 release date places the record in a period when vinyl had sustained a measurable commercial resurgence, though any connection between that broader trend and this specific release would be speculative. What the verified facts establish is a self-released, genre-coded vinyl record with a concise three-track A-side listing and no documented label or catalog identity.

Fact checker note: Track durations, B-side contents, personnel, pressing details, and any reception or distribution information remain unverified and are not addressed in this draft.
