Dexter (17) / Kut Masta Kurt
Beatgeeks 001

Listening notes

Beatgeeks Records released this three-track instrumental hip hop twelve-inch under the catalog number BEATGEEKS 001 in 2013, pairing Dexter (17) and Kut Masta Kurt across two sides of vinyl.

The release is brief by design. Side A opens with "Piano Love," which runs one minute and forty-four seconds, followed by "Trees" at one minute and forty-eight seconds. Side B carries a single track, "Broken Parking Meters," the longest piece on the record at three minutes and two seconds. The total running time across all three tracks falls well under ten minutes, a format more associated with focused beat showcases than extended listening sessions.

The catalog number mirrors the release title — BEATGEEKS 001 — suggesting this was intended as the first entry in a numbered series from the label. Whether subsequent volumes followed is not reflected in the information available here.

Both artists are credited equally on the release. Kut Masta Kurt has an established presence in independent hip hop production, while Dexter (17) appears here under a handle that distinguishes him from other artists sharing similar names in database listings. The parenthetical designation is a practical cataloging convention rather than a formal stage name detail that can be elaborated on without additional sourcing.

The record sits squarely within instrumental hip hop, a genre that circulates heavily on vinyl given collector interest in beat-focused material. Beyond its genre classification and format, the available facts do not extend to personnel roles, studio context, or regional origin. This entry is verified only against the structured release data above and should be reviewed before publication.
