Dexter (17) & Maniac (10)
Raw Shit - We Love Vinyl

Listening notes

Released in 2010 on the Wortsport label, *Raw Shit - We Love Vinyl* is a hip hop EP from Dexter (17) and Maniac (10), catalogued as WSP-016-EP. The release is structured across two sides of vinyl, with the A side presenting five vocal tracks and the B side delivering instrumental versions of the same five compositions.

The vocal side opens with the title track "Raw Shit," followed by "Die Eins Is'n Joke," "Fake News," "Popcorn," and "Tommy MCGeE." The B side mirrors this sequence exactly in instrumental form, a format that gives the release a deliberate, symmetrical architecture and provides listeners — and potentially other artists — with clean access to the underlying productions.

The practice of pairing vocal and instrumental versions on opposite sides of a record has a long history within hip hop releases, and this EP follows that convention directly. The title itself, *We Love Vinyl*, makes the format choice explicit rather than incidental, positioning the physical medium as part of the release's identity rather than simply a distribution method.

Wortsport, the releasing label, is identified by the catalog number WSP-016-EP, placing this release as the sixteenth entry in the label's catalog at the time of issue. No track durations are available in the verified documentation for this release.
