DJ Kaze (2)
Vinyl Concept Vol #1

Listening notes

Released in 2000 on Logilo Productions, *Vinyl Concept Vol #1* is a cassette by DJ Kaze (2) spanning boom bap, cut-up/DJ, and hip hop. The release carries no catalog number in its documented details.

The tape is notable for its tracklist structure, which threads several entries titled "Live On Vinyl Concept" across both sides. These segments are individually dated, suggesting they were recorded or performed at distinct points in time: June 1998, March 1998, July 1999, September 1999, October 1999, and March 2000. The presence of dates ranging from 1998 through 2000 indicates the release compiled material gathered over an approximate two-year period before the tape's 2000 issue date.

Side A opens with "Live On Vinyl Concept (July 1999)" and moves through thirteen tracks total, including remixes of titles such as "Just To Get A Rep," "Wanna Be An MC," and "Trump," alongside standalone cuts including "Get Yours," "Redefinition Of Nice," "Rap Niggaz," "One Two One Two," "Guaranteed," and "Freestyle." The track "B.Boy Theme" carries the parenthetical notation "From Respect The Architect," suggesting a connection to a separate project of that name, though no further detail on that project is available here.

Side B runs twelve tracks, again featuring multiple dated "Live On Vinyl Concept" entries as well as remixes of "On Time For The Lyrics," "Rec Room," "Hands Experiences," and "MVP." Additional Side B titles include "Radio," "True To The Game," "Undestand," "Bound To Slay," and "Im Not Playing."

With twenty-five tracks across two sides and material appearing to span multiple sessions, *Vinyl Concept Vol #1* presents itself as a compilation-style document of DJ Kaze (2)'s work during the late 1990s into 2000. Beyond what the tracklist itself conveys, further details await verification.
