DJ Spark (2)
Vinyl Siding

Listening notes

DJ Spark (2)'s "Vinyl Siding," released in 2005 on Northwest Order (catalog number NWO05-2), is a CD release in the hip hop genre spanning 48 tracks. The title itself gestures toward the format's relationship with recorded music culture, though the release is issued on CD rather than vinyl.

The tracklist is substantial, running from track one through track 41 with titled entries, followed by seven untitled tracks rounding out the sequence. The titled tracks are structured largely around artist or artist-pairing names rather than conventional song titles — a format consistent with mixtape and DJ composition releases of the period, where segments are often identified by the acts featured within them. Among the names appearing across the tracklist are Large Professor, Poor Righteous Teachers, Pharoahe Monch, Aceyalone, Common Sense, The Pharcyde, Del, Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth, Nas, Lyrics Born, Madlib, Gift of Gab, Mr. Lif, Casual, J-5, Motion Man, DJ Vadim, Artifacts, InI, Pep Love, J-Zone, Cali Agents, Ohmega Watts, Black Sheep, Show Biz and A.G., and Charli 2na, among others. DJ Spark appears across multiple track positions, including a track specifically subtitled "Autobiography" at position 24.

The release was issued under the Northwest Order label, catalog number NWO05-2, suggesting it was at least the fifth release in that label's sequence. No track durations are listed in the available documentation.
