Muro Featuring Lord Finesse & AG
The Vinyl Athletes

Listening notes

Released in 1999 on Japan's Toy's Factory label, "The Vinyl Athletes" is a hip hop CD single by Muro featuring Lord Finesse and AG, catalogued under TFCC-88228. The release brings together three artists associated with hip hop, presenting a single track across multiple configurations spread over six total entries.

The disc opens with the original version of "The Vinyl Athletes" before moving through two distinct remixes: the Reprisal Remix and a remix credited to Lord Finesse. Each of these three vocal versions is then paired with a corresponding instrumental, giving the six-track sequencing a symmetrical structure. The inclusion of the Lord Finesse Remix as a separately credited version makes explicit his role not only as a featured performer but also as a remixer on the release.

As a product issued by Toy's Factory, a Japanese label, the single fits within a broader pattern of Japanese releases during the late 1990s that brought together American hip hop artists for the domestic market. The catalog number format is consistent with Toy's Factory releases from that period.

Track durations are not documented in the available information, and no additional personnel, production credits, or recording details are confirmed for this entry. Any claims beyond what the catalog data establishes would require independent verification before publication.
