Mad Decent x Thump x Serato - Peyote Pizza Braykz (Serato Control Vinyl)

Listening notes

Released in 2015 under catalog number SR 624-955, Mad Decent x Thump x Serato — Peyote Pizza Braykz is a Serato Control Vinyl pressing catalogued under the genres of DJ Battle Tool and Hip Hop. The release is credited to no specific artist and was issued on the Serato Pressings label, reflecting its function as a tool designed for use with Serato DJ software rather than as a conventional listening record.

The release spans a double-LP format. The A side carries five tracks: "Peyote Pizza Braykz," "128mph Moonwalking Sloth Beats," "Versace Verses," "Space Coarse, Horse To Horse," and "Synth You Been Gone." Side B is devoted entirely to a fifteen-minute Serato Control Tone, identified as CV02.5. Sides C and D mirror this structure exactly, with the same five track titles repeated on Side C and another fifteen-minute CV02.5 control tone occupying Side D.

The title track names, while playful and oblique in their phrasing, are consistent with the irreverent naming conventions associated with DJ battle tools and promotional releases of the era. The collaboration credits Mad Decent, the label founded by producer Diplo, alongside Thump, Vice Media's music vertical, and Serato, the New Zealand-based company known for its digital vinyl system software. The presence of the Serato control tone on both B and D sides confirms the record's dual purpose: one side carrying sample or break content for DJ use, the other providing the timecode signal necessary to operate Serato's DVS system.

No duration information is available for any individual track on this release. This is an unreviewed draft and all details should be verified against the source record before publication.
