Peanut Butter Wolf
My Vinyl Weighs A Ton

Listening notes

Peanut Butter Wolf's *My Vinyl Weighs A Ton* appears in Stones Throw Records' catalog under catalog number STH 2017, with this vinyl edition dated 2023. The release is cataloged under hip hop and spreads across a double LP format, with sides labeled This Side and Other Side across four records.

The tracklist runs to twenty tracks in total. Side A opens with the fifteen-second "Sit Down And Shut Up" before moving into "In Your Area" at two minutes and twenty-five seconds, "Styles, Crews, Flows, Beats" at five minutes and fifty seconds, and "Casio" at three minutes and fifty seconds. Side B carries six tracks: "Hold Up," the brief "The Everliving" at forty-two seconds, "Rock Unorthadox," the twenty-two-second "Top Illin'," "Necromancin'," and "Breaks Em Down," which closes the side at just under four minutes. The third side leads with "Tale Of Five Cities," the longest individual track on the release at eight minutes and fifty seconds, followed by "Definition Of Ill" and the under-a-minute "Theme From A Peanut Butter Wolf." The final side concludes the album with "Run The Line," "Phonies," "Mobbin'," and the eighteen-second closer "Hawaii 5000."

The spread of track durations across the four sides is notably uneven, with brief interludes and sub-one-minute pieces sitting alongside the extended runtime of "Tale Of Five Cities." Whether that reflects the structure of the original release or decisions made for this specific pressing is a question a fact checker should confirm, along with verifying the 2023 date against pressing documentation and clarifying whether earlier editions of this title exist under the same catalog number.
