Delicious Vinyl Presents Music From The Motion Picture Marked For Death

Listening notes

Released in 1990 on Delicious Vinyl (catalog number 261 271), this soundtrack compilation accompanies the motion picture Marked For Death. The release appears in CD format and draws from a notably varied set of genres, with the tracklist spanning funk, hip hop, pop rap, and reggae — a range that reflects the label's eclectic positioning at the time.

Delicious Vinyl, the Los Angeles-based imprint, served as the presenting label for this project. The compilation runs sixteen tracks, opening with "I Wanna Do Something Freaky To You" at four minutes and thirty-nine seconds and closing with "Rebel In Me" at four minutes and six seconds. The longest track on the release is "Steppin' Razor," which runs five minutes and forty-eight seconds, while the shortest is "Weapons Montage" at two minutes and eight seconds. Several track titles — among them "Roots & Culture," "John Crow," and "Steppin' Razor" — point toward reggae content sitting alongside the funk and hip hop material elsewhere on the disc. "Pick Up The Pace (1990)" carries a year designation in its title, suggesting either a re-recorded or retitled version of an earlier track.

The full running time across all sixteen tracks amounts to approximately sixty-six minutes of music. No individual artist credits are available within the verified data for this entry, which is listed under the artist field as Various.
