Mass Vinyl Compilation

Listening notes

Released in 2019 on Back 2 Da Source Records, Mass Vinyl Compilation is a various-artists CD collecting boom bap and hip hop material under catalog number 135-MVOB2DS-CD. Despite carrying "Vinyl" in its title, the release was issued in CD format.

The disc presents fifteen tracks, twelve of which form the main program and three of which are designated bonus tracks. The main sequence opens with "24/7" at two minutes and fifty-six seconds, making it the shortest entry on the record. From there the tracklist moves through a range of running times, with "Money" at five minutes and twelve seconds standing as the longest individual track. Several titles appear to develop across the compilation in deliberate sequence: "Book Of Life" appears at position two and returns as "Book Of Life - Part 2" at position eleven, suggesting some connective intent across the running order. The twelfth main track, "4 Degrees For The Streets," closes that portion of the program before the bonus section begins with "Heartless," followed by "Drama" and "Where Ya At."

Other titles in the main program include "Padlock," "SOS," "The Tech's Technique," "Weak Minds," "Book Of Death," "Dont Mean Jak," and "Bleeding Hate." The overall runtime, based on the listed track durations, runs to approximately one hour.

The catalog number notation includes a CD suffix, and no vinyl edition has been documented in the available information. Back 2 Da Source Records is identified as the issuing label. No additional personnel, production, or release context has been confirmed in the available data.
