Listening notes

Released in 2000 on Epic Records (catalog number EK 85218), Vinyl Exams: Featuring DJ Cucumber Slice A.K.A Bobbito is an eighteen-track hip hop compilation issued in CD format. The release carries the curatorial presence of DJ Cucumber Slice, also known as Bobbito, whose name appears prominently in the title.

The tracklist draws together a range of hip hop material under that framing. Titles present across the eighteen positions include "P.S.K.: What Does It Mean," "Ego-Trippin' (MC Ultra)," "Rockin' It," "The Body Rock," "One Nation," "Going Way Back," "Bam Bam Bam," "Bring The Beat Back," "Girls I Got 'Em Locked," "The Prince," "Stick 'Em," "Def Fresh Crew," "It's My Beat," "Sons Of Cypher," "Peter Piper," "My 3 Kings," and "Fresh," along with a "WCMI Intro" at position two. The WCMI designation in that track title may point to a radio context, though no further detail can be confirmed from the available facts.

Track durations are not documented in the available data, and no personnel credits, recording information, or liner note details are confirmed here. The compilation is catalogued under the hip hop genre. As a various artists release on a major label at the turn of the millennium, it sits within a period when compiled hip hop programming had an established commercial presence, though no specific reception or sales information is available to draw on.

Collectors and researchers consulting this entry should treat personnel attributions for individual tracks as unconfirmed pending additional documentation. This is an unreviewed draft.
