Vinyl Reanimators Remixes

Listening notes

Vinyl Reanimators Remixes is a 1996 hip hop release issued on vinyl under the catalog number VR001. The release carries a Not On Label designation, indicating it was self-released or produced outside of a conventional record label structure, a common approach within underground and independent hip hop circles during the mid-1990s.

The record is a four-track, two-sided release. The A-side contains two versions of "Fast Life (Remix)": the remix itself and an instrumental version of the same. The B-side follows the same pattern with "The Bizness (Remix)" and its corresponding instrumental. This kind of formatting — pairing a vocal remix with a stripped instrumental on each side — was a practical and widely used convention in hip hop twelve-inch releases of the era, offering both DJ and production utility in a single pressing.

The Not On Label classification is worth noting for collectors and researchers approaching this release. It places the record outside traceable label infrastructure, which can complicate efforts to verify production details, distribution history, or personnel. No durations are documented for any of the four tracks in available catalog data.

As a 1996 hip hop vinyl release, the record exists within a period of significant activity in independent and underground remix culture, when the twelve-inch format remained a central vehicle for hip hop distribution and DJ use. The instrumental versions on both sides reflect the functional priorities of that format.

No additional verified information regarding artists, producers, recording origins, or affiliated projects is available at this time. Researchers should treat unverified claims about this release with caution until further documentation is confirmed.
