Vinyl Reanimators
Vinyl Reanimators Remixes (Test Pressing)

Listening notes

Vinyl Reanimators Remixes (Test Pressing) is a six-track vinyl release from 1996, catalogued under the identifier CO2115 and issued with no affiliated label. As its designation indicates, this is a test pressing format, a stage in the vinyl manufacturing process that precedes a standard commercial run. The release falls within the boom bap and hip hop genres.

The tracklist is organized across two sides. The A side carries three vocal remix versions: "Whatever Man (Remix)," "How Ya Want It (Remix)," and "Rotten Apple (Remix)." The B side mirrors this structure with corresponding instrumental versions of each track, presented in the same order. No track durations are documented for any of the six selections.

The not on label designation indicates the release was not commercially distributed through an identifiable record label, a circumstance common to test pressings, which are typically produced in very small quantities during quality control or evaluation stages prior to wider manufacture. Whether this particular test pressing was connected to any subsequent commercial release is not established by the available documentation.

No personnel, production credits, or recording details are verifiable from the information on hand. The same is true of any traceable commercial pressings connected to the three underlying titles or to the Vinyl Reanimators as an artist entity beyond what is documented here.

Researchers and collectors working in mid-1990s boom bap should approach this entry as a starting point. The absence of label affiliation, track timings, and credits means significant gaps remain in the documented record, and any additional verified details would be a meaningful contribution to the entry's completeness.
