Vinyl Change The World

Listening notes

ザ50回転ズ released "Vinyl Change The World" in 2016 through Magic Box (4), carrying the catalog number MGB-0003. The release appeared in a combined vinyl and CD package, making it a dual-format release rather than a standalone single or album in either medium alone.

The genres listed for the release span garage rock, pop punk, punk, rock, and rock & roll, suggesting a range that the band drew across at the time of this release.

The 7" vinyl component, designated MGB-0003, contains two tracks. The A-side carries the title track "Vinyl Change The World" at three minutes and thirty-one seconds, while the B-side presents "君にSha La La La Lee" at three minutes and eleven seconds. The format follows a conventional single configuration.

The accompanying CD, cataloged separately as MGB-0002, expands considerably on the vinyl's two-track selection. It opens with "Vinyl Change The World" at three minutes and thirty seconds, followed by "君にSha La La La Lee" at three minutes and eleven seconds. The disc then includes mono mixes of both songs: the title track in mono runs three minutes and forty-two seconds, and the mono version of "君にSha La La La Lee" runs three minutes and sixteen seconds. A live version of "Vinyl Change The World" closes the CD at four minutes and twenty seconds, bringing the total to five tracks.

The inclusion of mono mixes alongside standard versions is a documented structural feature of this release, as is the slightly differing runtime between the vinyl and CD versions of the title track — three minutes and thirty-one seconds on the 7" compared to three minutes and thirty seconds on the CD. The live version, exclusive to the CD, extends the title track by nearly a minute beyond either studio presentation.
