Anthrax
Stomp 442

Listening notes

Anthrax's Stomp 442, originally released in 1995, arrived on vinyl through Megaforce Records in 2021 under catalog number MEGA2332. The release spans two records across four sides, catalogued here in the Rock and Thrash genres.

The twelve-track program is spread across sides A through D with a fairly consistent runtime throughout. Side A opens with "Random Acts Of Senseless Violence" at 4:03, followed by "Fueled" at 4:02 and "King Size" at 4:00, three tracks running in close proximity to one another in length. Side B carries "Riding Shotgun" at 4:27, "Perpetual Motion" at 4:19, and "In A Zone" at 5:08, the latter marking the first track on the record to cross the five-minute threshold.

Side C holds "Nothing" at 4:34, "American Pompeii" at 5:30, and "Drop The Ball" at 4:59, while Side D closes the record with "Tester" at 4:23, "Bare" at 5:30, and "Grunt & Click" at 5:28. The final three tracks represent the longest sustained stretch of the program, with each running well past four minutes and two of the three reaching 5:30 or beyond.

Across all twelve tracks, the total runtime comes to approximately 56 minutes and 23 seconds, a program length that accounts for the double-LP format. The pacing of the sequencing places the album's lengthier material toward the later sides, with the front-loaded tracks on Side A clustering tightly around the four-minute mark before the record opens up in runtime as it progresses.

This 2021 Megaforce pressing carries catalog number MEGA2332. Collectors and researchers should verify all additional details — including pressing specifications, personnel, and any variant information — independently before publication.
