Listening notes
BAP Vinyl Box Volume 2 (1990-1999) was released by Vertigo in 2022 under catalog number 456 766 2. The set spans five vinyl records and covers a decade of the Cologne-based rock group's output, drawing on material the band recorded and released between 1990 and 1999. The genres associated with the release include blues rock, classic rock, hard rock, pop rock, and rock.
The tracklist is extensive, running from sides A through T across the five records. Source albums represented include Amerika, Comics & Pin-Ups, Pik Sibbe, Tonfilm, and X Für e' U, each occupying a distinct section of the box. The tracklist is largely conducted in Kölsch, the Ripuarian dialect associated with Cologne, which has been a consistent characteristic of the band's catalog throughout their career.
Several tracks carry designations worth noting for collectors and researchers. Two tracks on side H are identified as "Probesessions Elba, Mai 1998," suggesting rehearsal or session recordings from that specific location and date. Tracks on side G include "2006 Digital Remaster" designations. Side P includes a track labeled "WDR Soundfiles" and another identified as a "Tonfilm Sessions" instrumental. Side D includes a version of "Wahnsinn" credited as a "Crossover-Version / H-Blockx," indicating a collaborative recording. Side T includes a track parenthetically credited to Colin James's "Just Came Back."
No track durations are listed in the available documentation. This draft is unreviewed and should be verified against primary sources before publication.
