Bathory
In Memory Of Quorthon - The Vinyl Box

Listening notes

Released by Black Mark Production in 2011 under catalog number BMLPBOX666-27, In Memory Of Quorthon - The Vinyl Box is a box set issued as a tribute to Bathory's central figure following his death. The set is organized across multiple vinyl components: a picture disc and three double-LP volumes, spanning genres the band worked across during its existence, cataloged here as black metal, rock, and Viking metal.

The picture disc collects eight tracks, including "Hades," "In Conspiracy With Satan," "Raise The Dead," and "War," among others. The three numbered volumes that follow spread an extensive selection across twelve LP sides. Volume 1 draws from what the tracklist suggests is a range of Bathory's output, including "Song To Hall Up High," "A Fine Day To Die," "Twilight Of The Gods," and "Born For Burning." Volume 2 continues with titles such as "One Rode To Asa Bay," "Enter The Eternal Fire," "Blood Fire Death," and "Death And Resurrection Of A Northern Son." Volume 3 closes the set with tracks including "The Return Of Darkness And Evil," "Woman Of Dark Desires," "Hammerheart," and "Destroyer Of Worlds."

The tracklist also includes covers or songs associated with other artists — "War Pigs," "Ace Of Spades," "God Save The Queen," "I'm Only Sleeping," and "Deuce" appear by title among the selections, though no annotation in the available data clarifies their context within the set.

In total the set presents over fifty individually listed track positions across its components, making it a substantive vinyl document. Researchers and collectors consulting this entry should note that track durations, pressing details, and matrix information are not confirmed in the available data and require independent verification before publication.
