Bekëth Nexëhmü
De Svarta Riterna

Listening notes

Bekëth Nexëhmü's De Svarta Riterna was released in 2018 on Nordisk Kultur, carrying the catalog number N01. The record is catalogued under the genres of black metal and rock, and was issued on vinyl.

The album contains four tracks spread across two sides. Side A opens with "Fenrisulvens Käftar," running at 12 minutes and 35 seconds, followed by "Hels Frusna Nejder" at 11 minutes and 11 seconds. Side B carries "Jörmungandr" at 10 minutes and 9 seconds, closing with "Nidhöggs Härkomst," the longest piece on the record at 13 minutes and 38 seconds. The total runtime across the four tracks amounts to just under 48 minutes.

The track titles draw on figures from Norse mythology. Fenrisulven refers to the great wolf Fenrir, Hel is the ruler of the realm of the dead, Jörmungandr is the world serpent, and Níðhöggr is the dragon said to gnaw at the roots of Yggdrasil. The Swedish-language titles place this material within a broader Scandinavian cultural framing that is not uncommon in black metal as a genre.

The four tracks are uniformly extended in length, with none falling below ten minutes. This structural choice gives the record a particular shape that collectors and listeners evaluating it for their collections may wish to note when considering how it fits within the format. Vinyl as a medium places natural constraints on runtime per side, and the distribution of roughly 24 minutes per side reflects that consideration.

De Svarta Riterna is the first catalog release from Nordisk Kultur, as indicated by the N01 designation. Beyond what is documented here, further details regarding personnel, pressings, or availability have not been confirmed and are not reported.
