Listening notes

Released by Demon Records in 2018, The Vinyl Collection 1987-1993 (catalog number DEMRECBOX17X) is a four-LP box set collecting Belinda Carlisle's studio albums from a six-year span of her solo career. The set brings together Heaven On Earth (1987), Runaway Horses (1989), Live Your Life Be Free (1991), and Real (1993), each issued as a discrete vinyl pressing under its own individual catalog number: DEMREC262, DEMREC263, DEMREC264, and DEMREC265 respectively.

The four records span genres catalogued as pop, pop rock, rock, soft rock, and ballad. Across the four discs, listeners encounter a substantial body of work. Heaven On Earth fills sides A and B with ten tracks, including "Heaven Is A Place On Earth," "Circle In The Sand," and "I Get Weak." Runaway Horses contributes another ten tracks across its two sides, among them "Leave A Light On," "La Luna," and "(We Want) The Same Thing." Live Your Life Be Free is the most expansive of the four records by track count, with eleven tracks spread across its sides, closing with "Loneliness Game" on side B. Real rounds out the collection with ten tracks, concluding with "Here Comes My Baby."

In total the box set presents forty-one tracks. Individual track durations, where listed, range from "Nobody Owns Me" at 3:12 to "Summer Rain" at 5:50, suggesting considerable variety in arrangement length across the four albums.

For collectors, the set provides a single point of acquisition for this portion of Carlisle's Demon-catalogued solo discography. Whether the individual pressings within the box are also available separately is worth confirming, as each carries a distinct catalog number. Prospective buyers should verify current availability and any edition-specific details with a trusted seller before purchase.
