Black Crowes, The
A Pound Of Feathers

Listening notes

The Black Crowes released A Pound Of Feathers in 2026 on Silver Arrow Records, catalog number SAR67LP. The album arrives on vinyl and works across the genres the band has long occupied: blues rock, rock, and southern rock.

The record is structured across two sides, each carrying its own subtitle. Side one is titled A Pound Of Feathers and opens with "Prophane Prophecy," followed by "Cruel Streak," "Pharmacy Chronicles," "Do The Parasite!," "High And Lonesome," and "Queen Of The B-Sides." Side two carries the title A Pound Of Lead and contains five tracks: "It's Like That," "Blood Red Regrets," "You Call This A Good Time?," "Eros Blues," and "Doomsday Doggerel." The dual-subtitle structure, with its paired weight metaphor — feathers against lead — gives the album a deliberate internal symmetry, though what that symmetry means in musical terms is a question the listener will have to answer independently.

The tracklist itself is notable for its range of tones on paper. Titles like "Doomsday Doggerel" and "Do The Parasite!" suggest a sardonic edge, while "High And Lonesome" and "Blood Red Regrets" land closer to the introspective register the band has worked in across its catalog. "Queen Of The B-Sides" closes the first side with a title that carries its own quiet irony as a named track on an LP.

Beyond the release information and tracklist, the available documentation on this release does not yet support claims about personnel, production, pressing specifics, or the album's reception. Collectors and listeners approaching this record should treat this entry as a structural overview pending further documentation.
