Black Mirrors
Look Into The Black Mirror

Listening notes

Black Mirrors are a band working within the blues, blues rock, garage rock, and rock genres. Their debut full-length, Look Into The Black Mirror, was released in 2018 on Napalm Records under catalog number NPR 768 VINYL.

The album arrives on vinyl as a standard two-sided pressing. The A-side opens with "Shoes For Booze" and continues through "Funky Queen," "Lay My Burden Down," "Inner Reality," and "Moonstone." The B-side carries five further tracks — "Günther Kimmich," "Cold Midnight Drum," "Mind Shape," "Till The Land Wind Blows," and "Burning Warriors" — followed by a bonus track, "Whispering Ghost," listed as B6. Track durations are not documented in the available data for this edition.

The tracklist is worth noting for a couple of reasons. The title "Lay My Burden Down" places the band in direct conversation with a phrase long associated with American blues and gospel tradition, while "Cold Midnight Drum" and "Burning Warriors" suggest the darker, more atmospheric end of the band's range as catalogued across the ten core tracks. "Günther Kimmich" stands out as an anomaly among the titles, its specificity contrasting with the more elemental language found elsewhere on the record. Whether the bonus track "Whispering Ghost" appeared on other formats of this release is not confirmed by the available information.

Napalm Records, the Austrian label that issued this record, has a broad catalog spanning hard rock and metal as well as adjacent genres, making the placement of a blues rock act within their roster a point of context worth a collector noting. Beyond the label, format, catalog number, year, and tracklist, verified documentation for this pressing is limited, and collectors seeking further detail — including personnel, pressing variants, or country of manufacture — should consult primary sources before drawing conclusions.
