Blood Incantation
Hidden History Of The Human Race

Listening notes

Blood Incantation's Hidden History Of The Human Race was released in 2019 on Dark Descent Records (DDR 236). The album appears on vinyl and is catalogued under the genres of death metal, progressive metal, rock, and space rock.

The record contains four tracks spread across its runtime. The first side opens with "Slave Species Of The Gods" at 5:31, followed by "The Giza Power Plant" at 7:06 and "Inner Paths (To Outer Space)" at 5:38. The fourth track, "Awakening," runs to 18:05, making it by a considerable margin the longest piece on the album and a substantial portion of the total runtime.

The genre designations on file — death metal alongside progressive metal, rock, and space rock — suggest a range that extends beyond any single stylistic category. Whether those tags reflect distinct passages within individual tracks or a broader characterization of the album as a whole is something a collector handling the record would be better positioned to assess. What the tracklist does confirm structurally is that the album builds toward a single extended piece, a format with precedent in progressive rock traditions.

Dark Descent Records, the Colorado-based label behind this release, has maintained a catalog oriented toward death metal and related underground styles. The catalog number DDR 236 places this release within that documented output.
