Can't Be Blue
Blue Vinyl

Listening notes

Can't Be Blue is a Korean rock act operating within the K-Rock space, and in 2025 the group released a vinyl record through the independent label IRRLVNT. The release carries the self-titled name Blue Vinyl and is pressed on vinyl format, spanning five tracks across two sides.

The record opens on the A-side with the title track "Blue Vinyl," running at two minutes and twenty-two seconds, making it the shortest piece on the release. It is followed by "Sick Of You," which extends the first side to three minutes and thirty-four seconds. The B-side carries three tracks: "Matryoshka" at three minutes and six seconds, the Korean-language track "사랑이라 했던 말 속에서" at three minutes and nineteen seconds, and "Wishlist" closing the record at three minutes and thirty-three seconds. The total runtime across all five tracks amounts to approximately fifteen minutes and fifty-four seconds, a compact program consistent with a single-sided or extended play format distributed across both sides of a twelve-inch or seven-inch platter.

The release is categorized across K-Rock, Pop, Pop Rock, and Rock, reflecting a range that positions Can't Be Blue within a broadly accessible rock framework while retaining a connection to Korean popular music. The inclusion of one Korean-language title alongside four English-language titles on the tracklist points to a bilingual approach to the material.

IRRLVNT, the issuing label, carries no catalog number for this release, which may be of note to collectors and archivists attempting to document the imprint's output. Whether this omission is standard practice for the label or specific to this release is not confirmed here.
