Car Bomb (2)
Meta

Listening notes

Car Bomb's Meta was released in 2016 as a self-released vinyl record on what is catalogued as Not On Label, carrying no catalog number. The record spans eleven tracks across two sides, with the A side opening on "From The Dust Of This Planet" at 3:10 and closing on "The Oppressor" at 4:42. The B side runs from "Black Blood" through to the album's longest track, "Infinite Sun," which clocks in at 5:39.

The self-released nature of the record places it outside conventional label infrastructure, a detail worth noting for collectors and researchers attempting to trace its distribution history. The absence of a catalog number is consistent with that independent status and may present practical challenges when cross-referencing against standard discographical databases.

Across its eleven tracks, Meta runs a total program that rewards attention to sequencing. The A side holds six tracks, with durations ranging from just over three minutes to just under five. The B side carries five tracks, and at 5:07 and 5:39 respectively, "Cenotaph" and "Infinite Sun" represent the record's two longest individual pieces. "Sets," at 4:10, is the shortest track on the B side.

The genres associated with this release — Experimental, Hardcore, Math Rock, and Rock — reflect a broad categorical range, though what weight any individual designation carries within the context of this specific record is a question better left to verified critical sources.
