Listening notes

Released by Demon Records in 2018 under catalog number DEMRECBOX23, The Vinyl Collection 1995–2001 is a box set compiling material from Cast across four studio albums: All Change, Mother Nature Calls, Magic Hour, and Beetroot. The set spans the Liverpool band's active recording period during the Britpop era, running from 1995 through 2001.

The physical format comprises four vinyl records spread across eight sides, labeled A through H. The sequencing follows the albums in chronological order of release. All Change occupies sides A and B, with tracks including "Alright," "Promised Land," "Sandstorm," "Finetime," "Walkaway," and "History," among others. Mother Nature Calls fills sides C and D, featuring titles such as "Free Me," "Live The Dream," "The Mad Hatter," "Guiding Star," and "Dance Of The Stars." Magic Hour covers sides E and F, containing "Beat Mama," "Dreamer," "Higher," "Chasing The Day," and "Burn The Light," alongside additional tracks. The fourth album, Beetroot, closes the set across sides G and H, with material including "Desert Drought," "Kingdoms And Crowns," "High Wire," "Jetstream," and "Universal Grinding Wheel."

In total, the set presents fifty tracks drawn from those four albums, catalogued under the Britpop and Rock genres. The title's date range, 1995–2001, corresponds directly to the span covered by the four albums represented.

For collectors and researchers, the primary documentary value of this release lies in its consolidation of Cast's complete Demon-era studio output onto vinyl within a single package. The catalog number DEMRECBOX23 is the appropriate reference point for identification purposes. Fact checkers should confirm track-by-track sequencing against physical pressings, as no runtime data was available for verification.
