Cherubs (4), The
Vinyl Dynamite

Listening notes

The Cherubs (4) released Vinyl Dynamite in 1977 on C.C. Records (2), catalog number SSI-1455. The record spans seven tracks and is catalogued under the genres of Blues, Blues Rock, and Rock.

The tracklist opens with "Stick To Your Guns" and moves through "Half A Loaf," "Lay Down Your Burden," and "Wendy (Is That You?)" before reaching the second half of the record with "Settle The Score," "Even Steven (Gets The Blues)," and the closing track "Where Did She Go?" Track durations are not documented in available sources.

What the tracklist itself can suggest, even without supplementary documentation, is a degree of deliberate sequencing. The titles carry idiomatic weight — phrases built around persistence, compromise, and absence — which gives the seven-track program a loose thematic consistency. Whether that consistency was intentional on the part of the group or is simply a quality projected by a reader moving through the titles in order is a question the available record cannot answer.

C.C. Records (2) is the issuing label, and the parenthetical disambiguation in both the artist and label names indicates that other acts and imprints share these names in discographic databases, making precise identification of context dependent on the catalog number SSI-1455 as the clearest identifying marker.

No personnel, recording location, or production credits are confirmed in the available data. Collectors or researchers seeking further documentation on this release would need to consult the physical pressing itself or contemporaneous trade records.
