Cinecyde
Black Vinyl Threat

Listening notes

Cinecyde's Black Vinyl Threat, released in 1978 on Tremor Records with the catalog number TR 003, is a four-track vinyl record catalogued under the punk and rock genres. The release sits within a year that saw punk music establishing footholds across regional scenes far from the genre's better-documented centers, and Black Vinyl Threat represents a documented artifact of that period.

The record's two sides each carry a pair of tracks. The A side opens with "Rock Meat (And The Hard Ons)" at three minutes and five seconds, followed by "Underground" at three minutes and fifty-five seconds. The B side presents "Secret Agent Man" at three minutes and twenty-five seconds, closing with "I Don't Want Nothin' From You" at three minutes and forty seconds. The four tracks run to a combined runtime of just under fifteen minutes, consistent with the concise format common to punk-era singles and extended plays.

The release appeared on Tremor Records, identified in discographic records as Tremor Records (2), under the catalog designation TR 003. The label designation and catalog number place this as the third catalogued release in that sequence, though no further verified information about the label's full output or history is available here to elaborate on that context.

The title Black Vinyl Threat carries a self-referential quality in its phrasing, though what intentions or circumstances surrounded that choice remain outside what the verified record supports. What the catalog entry does confirm is a band, a label, a year, and four tracks — a concrete entry point for researchers and collectors approaching Cinecyde's documented discography.
