Circle Of Ouroborus
Alttarimyllyt

Listening notes

Circle of Ouroborus released Alttarimyllyt in 2015 through the Finnish label Kuunpalvelus, presenting the album on vinyl with seven tracks spread across two sides. The record carries no catalog number.

The Finnish band has been associated across their discography with an unusual range of genre tags, and Alttarimyllyt is no exception. The release is catalogued under acoustic, black metal, folk, world and country, lo-fi, and rock — a breadth of descriptors that at minimum signals a project resistant to easy classification. Whether those tags reflect the full span of a single release or the accumulated range of a band known for stylistic restlessness, they suggest Alttarimyllyt does not sit comfortably in any single tradition.

The tracklist is conducted entirely in Finnish. Side A opens with "Langennut Ritari" and continues through "Puutarha" and "Perillä," while Side B carries four tracks: "Loputon," "Eksynyt," "Kaksi Patsasta," and "Maasta Olet Tullut." The titles translate loosely to subjects such as a fallen knight, a garden, arrival, endlessness, one who is lost, two statues, and a phrase meaning something close to "from the earth you have come" — language with an austere, elemental quality, though what the music makes of those themes is not addressed here.

Kuunpalvelus is a label with documented ties to the Finnish underground, and Alttarimyllyt fits within a catalog that has favored releases positioned outside mainstream metal and folk channels. Beyond that connection, the verified facts on hand do not support claims about pressing details, edition size, personnel, or the record's standing among collectors or listeners. Those questions are best left to sources that can confirm them directly.
