Listening notes

Cave & Canary Goods released this vinyl edition of The Dear Hunter's Act I: The Lake South, The River North (Live From Seattle, WA) in 2023 under catalog number CACG-006. The release falls within the prog rock and rock genres and captures a live performance of material drawn from the band's Act I record.

The album is spread across two sides. Side A opens with "Battesimo Del Fuoco" and moves through "The Lake South," "City Escape," "The Inquiry of Ms. Terri," and "1878." Side B carries the remaining four performances: "The Pimp and the Priest," "His Hands Matched His Tongue," and "The River North." The sequencing on vinyl mirrors the narrative arc of the original studio material, which was constructed around a cohesive storyline — a structural approach that aligns with the prog rock tradition the band works within.
