Deathspell Omega
Paracletus

Listening notes

Deathspell Omega's Paracletus was released on vinyl by Norma Evangelium Diaboli in 2017 under catalog number NED026. The record spans ten tracks across two sides and is categorized under avantgarde, black metal, experimental, and rock genres.

Side A opens with "Epiklesis," a short piece running one minute and forty-one seconds, before moving into "Wings of Predation" at three minutes and forty seconds. "Abscission" follows at just over six minutes, then "Dearth" at three minutes and forty-four seconds. The side closes with "Phosphene," the longest track on the record at six minutes and fifty-eight seconds.

Side B begins with a second track also titled "Epiklesis," this one running three minutes and three seconds — notably longer than its Side A counterpart sharing the same name. "Malconfort" follows at four minutes and fifty-four seconds, then "Have You Beheld The Fevers?" at two minutes and fifty-seven seconds. "Devouring Famine" runs five minutes and six seconds, and the record concludes with "Apokatastasis Pantôn" at four minutes and three seconds.

The total runtime across both sides places this firmly within standard LP territory. The presence of two distinct tracks sharing the title "Epiklesis" — positioned at the opening of each side respectively and differing in duration — is a structural detail worth noting for anyone cataloging or researching this release.
