Listening notes
Released in 2025 on W-Entertainment GmbH, Der W's Akustik Tour - Live im Admiralspalast arrives as a substantial multi-format box set documenting a live acoustic performance at Berlin's Admiralspalast. The set is issued simultaneously across vinyl, CD, and Blu-ray, with each format carrying the same concert program.
The vinyl component spreads across seven sides, labeled A through G, with a total of twenty-one tracks. The program opens with a two-minute-and-twenty-five-second instrumental, "Air (Intro) (Von Johann Sebastian Bach)," before moving into the original material that makes up the remainder of the set. Several tracks extend well past the five-minute mark, with "Haus Aus Spiegeln" running seven minutes and one second, "Briefe An Mich Selbst" at seven minutes and four seconds, "Gewinnen Kann Jeder" at eight minutes and sixteen seconds, "Der Hafen" at eight minutes and twenty-six seconds, and the penultimate vinyl track "Ein Lied Für Meinen Sohn" reaching nine minutes and fourteen seconds. The final side, G, carries only two tracks and accounts for just over sixteen and a half minutes of the runtime on its own.
The CD portion divides the same twenty-one-track program across two discs, with eleven tracks on the first and ten on the second. Track timings on the CD differ from the vinyl by approximately one second per track throughout, which is not unusual between formats. The Blu-ray presents all twenty-one concert tracks and adds a thirty-five-minute bonus documentary, making it the only component in the set to include supplementary material beyond the performance itself.
