Dik Van Dykes, The
Waste Mor Vinyl

Listening notes

The Dik Van Dykes released *Waste Mor Vinyl* in 1989 on Og Music, catalogued as OG24. The record is categorized under garage rock, psychobilly, and rock, and presents fourteen tracks across two sides of vinyl.

Side A opens with "Chain Letter Massacre" at 2:22 and moves through "Cubic Zirconia" (1:53), "Aerobocop" (2:12), and "Monster Trucks" (2:20) before reaching "Leave This City," for which no duration is documented. The side continues with "Honeymoon In Niagara Falls" (2:00) and closes on "Beachcombers," the longest track on the A side at 3:09.

Side B opens with "Adult Gumby" at 3:24, followed by "Lazlo Come Home" (2:15), "Law 'n' Ornaments" (2:32), "Cow Pie" (2:54), and "Muskrat Love" (2:05). The side then moves to "Klaus Barbie" at 1:20, the shortest track on the record, before closing with "Lost In Space" at 5:20, which is also the longest individual track on the release.

The track titles, taken together, reflect a sensibility that mixes pop culture references, dark humor, and absurdist imagery consistent with the broader psychobilly and underground garage scenes of the period. The record's title itself, *Waste Mor Vinyl*, reads as a self-aware provocation directed at the format it occupies.

With a total of fourteen tracks and most running under three minutes, the release maintains a compact, economical structure across both sides. Og Music, the issuing label, is associated with independent underground releases of the era. Beyond what is documented here, further details regarding personnel, pressing specifics, and the band's broader discography would require independent verification before publication.
