VINYL No. 2

Listening notes

Released in 2019 on GENUIN Classics, VINYL No. 2 (catalog number ATVS02) is a single-sided vinyl release from the Dresdner Residenz Orchester alongside Igor Malinovsky, Florian Kästner, and Johannes Enders. The release sits across two genres — Classical and Jazz — a pairing reflected in its two-track program.

The A-side presents "Die Vier Jahreszeiten: Sommer, III. Presto," the concluding movement of Vivaldi's Summer concerto from The Four Seasons, clocking in at 2:42. The B-side offers "Astoria Tempelhof," an original composition running 4:48. The contrast between the two tracks — one a condensed excerpt from a cornerstone of the Baroque repertoire, the other an apparently self-contained piece with a distinctly contemporary-sounding title — gives the release an intentional cross-genre character that aligns with its listed genres.

GENUIN Classics is a Leipzig-based label with an established catalog of classical recordings, and the Dresdner Residenz Orchester is a Dresden-based ensemble. The presence of Malinovsky, Kästner, and Enders alongside the orchestra suggests a collaborative rather than strictly orchestral configuration, though the precise roles of each contributor are not detailed in the available documentation.

As the catalog number implies, this appears to be the second installment in a series. Beyond that, the facts on hand do not support further characterization of the release's context, purpose, or position within any broader project.

[DRAFT NOTE FOR FACT CHECKER: Roles of individual performers, recording details, and series context should be verified before publication. The Vivaldi attribution is standard but should be confirmed against liner notes. "Astoria Tempelhof" composer credit is unconfirmed in source data.]
