Elbow
The Definitive Vinyl Album Box Set

Listening notes

Released by Fiction Records in 2012 under catalog number 3711518, Elbow's The Definitive Vinyl Album Box Set is a substantial multi-format collection comprising seven vinyl records, a digital file component, and associated box set packaging. The set spans the band's studio output across several albums — Asleep In The Back, Cast Of Thousands, Leaders Of The Free World, The Seldom Seen Kid, and Build A Rocket Boys! — alongside the live recording Elbow And The BBC Concert Orchestra: The Seldom Seen Kid Live At Abbey Road, and the compilation Dead In The Boot.

The tracklist runs to more than eighty individual titles, spread across sides designated A through BB. The vinyl portion of The Seldom Seen Kid material appears twice within the set: once in what appears to be a standard album configuration across sides M through P, and again in the Abbey Road live version across sides Q through T, with the two sequenced identically track for track. Dead In The Boot, occupying sides Y through BB, contributes titles not present on the studio albums included elsewhere in the set, among them "Whisper Grass," "Lucky With Disease," "Lay Down Your Cross," and "Buffalo Ghosts."

The genres listed for the release are Acoustic, Alternative Rock, Indie Rock, and Rock. No durations are documented in the available tracklist data. The format notation — listing vinyl seven times alongside a file component — reflects the physical configuration of the box, though the exact specification of individual discs is not detailed in the available data.
