Struggle On Vinyl

Listening notes

Fetish (6) released *Struggle On Vinyl* in 2000 as a self-released CD, issued with no catalog number under the "Not On Label" designation. That classification places it among the considerable body of work from that era produced and distributed entirely outside conventional label infrastructure, with artists retaining full control over the release process.

The release carries genre tags spanning Goth Rock, Gothic Metal, Nu Metal, and Rock, a combination that reflects the cross-genre climate of the period, when metal subgenres were actively intersecting with rock and darker atmospheric styles. Whether those tags accurately capture the full character of the music is a question a listener would need to settle independently; they are the genres attributed to the release on record.

The disc collects twelve tracks: "Tulip," "W.a.p.," "Green," "Matinee," "Hansel," "Y," "Empathy," "Saint," "Sideline," "Shame," "Beautiful," and "Rumor." No track durations are documented in the available data, so the total runtime of the release cannot be stated here. The tracklist itself suggests a full-length effort rather than an EP, though that conclusion rests only on track count.

The title *Struggle On Vinyl* presents an immediate curiosity given that the release exists as a CD rather than a vinyl record. Whether that title carries a conceptual meaning, references an earlier or unrealized vinyl version, or reflects something else entirely is not established in the available record. It is worth noting without further elaboration.

Personnel, recording location, production credits, and pressing details are not documented in the verified information at hand and have been omitted accordingly. Researchers seeking those specifics would need to consult the physical release or other primary sources. This entry should be treated as an unreviewed draft pending verification.
