Flesh For Lulu
Final Vinyl (And Live Flesh)

Listening notes

Flesh For Lulu's *Final Vinyl (And Live Flesh)* was released in 1990 on Capitol Records under catalog number SPRO-79992/79993. The release is catalogued across the genres of glam, goth rock, new wave, and rock.

The record is spread across two sides and ten tracks in total. Side A opens with three versions of "Every Little Word" — a 12" edit running four minutes and seven seconds, an alternative radio edit at four minutes and fifteen seconds, and the LP version at four minutes and twenty-six seconds. The inclusion of all three in sequence gives the A side a promotional character, offering direct comparison between the edits and the longer album cut. Side A closes with two live recordings: "Slide" at three minutes and fifty-eight seconds, and "I Go Crazy" at four minutes and twenty-eight seconds.

Side B is composed entirely of live material. It opens with "Time & Space" at four minutes and thirteen seconds, followed by "Siamese Twist" at four minutes and fifty-two seconds, "Postcards From Paradise" at three minutes and twelve seconds, "Decline And Fall" at four minutes and one second, and closes with a live cover of "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man" at five minutes and twelve seconds. The latter is a song associated with Prince.

The catalog number format — SPRO — is consistent with Capitol Records promotional releases of the period, which may be of interest to collectors researching the release's original distribution context. The record's title, combining *Final Vinyl* and *Live Flesh*, reflects a deliberate double meaning that draws on both the vinyl format and the band's name.
