George Harrison
The Vinyl Collection: Extra Texture

Listening notes

George Harrison's Extra Texture (Read All About It) was originally released in 1975, and this edition appears as part of a 2017 Universal UMC reissue series titled The Vinyl Collection, presented here in CD format. The series title suggests a broader campaign to revisit Harrison's solo catalog, though the specifics of that campaign fall outside what can be confirmed from the information available.

The album carries genre classifications of pop, pop rock, and rock, which positions it broadly within the commercial popular music landscape of its era. No catalog number has been assigned to this particular release.

The ten-track sequence runs as follows: "You" opens the program at three minutes and forty-three seconds, followed by "The Answer's At The End" at five minutes and thirty-three seconds. "This Guitar (Can't Keep From Crying)" comes third at four minutes and thirteen seconds, with "Ooh Baby (You Know That I Love You)" next at an even four minutes. "World Of Stone" runs four minutes and forty-four seconds before the brief interlude "A Bit More Of You" appears at just forty-five seconds, the shortest entry on the record by a considerable margin. The second half continues with "Can't Stop Thinking About You" at four minutes and thirty-three seconds, "Tired Of Midnight Blue" at four minutes and fifty-three seconds, and "Grey Cloudy Lies" at three minutes and forty-three seconds. The closing track, "His Name Is Legs (Ladies & Gentlemen)," is the longest at five minutes and fifty-one seconds.

The runtime across the ten tracks reflects an album of standard length for the period, with the brief "A Bit More Of You" standing as a structural anomaly among otherwise full-length songs.

Collectors and researchers consulting this entry should verify personnel, pressing details, and any bonus content directly against physical documentation, as none of that information is confirmed here.
