Green Day
Ultimate Collectors 7" Vinyl Singles Box Set

Listening notes

Green Day's Ultimate Collectors 7" Vinyl Singles Box Set was released in 2009 on Reprise Records under catalog number 517676-7. The set is comprised of twenty-one 7" vinyl singles and is catalogued across the genres of Alternative Rock, Pop, Punk, and Rock.

The scope of the tracklist is considerable. The earliest material represented includes titles associated with the Going to Pasalacqua single, which carries tracks such as "Road to Acceptance" and "Disappearing Boy," and the Slappy E.P., which contributes "Paper Lanterns," "Why Do You Want Him?," "409 in Your Coffeemaker," and "Knowledge." The 1,000 Hours single follows, with timed durations available for its four tracks: "1,000 Hours" at 2:24, "Dry Ice" at 3:43, "Only of You" at 2:44, and "The One I Want" at 2:59.

Singles from the band's Reprise-era catalog occupy much of the remaining set. These include the singles "Longview," "Basket Case," "Geek Stink Breath," "Brain Stew / Jaded," "Hitchin' A Ride," "Redundant," "Minority," and "Waiting," each paired with B-sides that in several cases include live recordings — among them "Chump (Live)," "When I Come Around (Live from Sweden)," and "Nice Guys Finish Last (Live from Electric Factory)." Disc eleven presents "J.A.R. (Jason Andrew Relva)" alongside "Emenius Sleepus."

Later discs cover the Warning and American Idiot periods. Disc sixteen contains tracks labeled "Desensitized," "Do Da Da," "Scumbag," and "Suffocate." Disc seventeen, attributed to The Network, includes "Joe Robot," "Money Money 2020," and "Roshambo." The American Idiot singles occupy discs eighteen and nineteen, and the set closes with disc twenty, featuring "Mother Mary" (2:57) and "She's a Saint Not a Celebrity" (2:35), and disc twenty-one pairing "Know Your Enemy" with "21 Guns."

Duration information is absent for the majority of tracks. Prospective fact-checkers should verify all track title spellings against source materials, as several apparent inconsistencies are present in the source data.
