Green Vinyl Dream
Green Vinyl Dream

Listening notes

Green Vinyl Dream is a rock release from the act of the same name, issued in 2000 on Fat Organ Music under catalog number DZS-200. The format is CD. The record carries twelve tracks, opening with "I Am" and closing with the self-titled "Green Vinyl Dream," a sequencing choice that gives the album a degree of internal symmetry, with the band's name serving as both the work's identity and its final statement.

The tracklist moves through titles that suggest a range of atmospheric and conceptual territory — "Kaleidoscope," "Pool of Echoes," "Seed the Sky," and "Invisible" among them — though what any of those titles contain in musical terms is not documented here. "Dandelion Wine" and "Shallow Sun" occupy the latter half of the running order alongside "Kid Mystical" and "Everybody's Here," rounding out a twelve-song set whose individual track durations are not on record.

The band name itself is notable in the context of a vinyl reference platform: an act calling itself Green Vinyl Dream and issuing a CD in 2000 invites some reflection on the format choices of that era, when compact disc was the commercial standard and vinyl occupied a different cultural position than it does today. Whether that naming was deliberate commentary, nostalgia, or simply aesthetic preference is not known from the available information.

Fat Organ Music is listed as the releasing label. Beyond the label name, catalog number, year, format, and tracklist, the documented record for this release is thin. Researchers or collectors seeking personnel, recording details, or pressing information will need to consult additional primary sources.
