Gut Featuring: Otto Von Schirach
Pimps Of Gore

Listening notes

Pimps Of Gore is a 2006 vinyl release by Gut featuring Otto Von Schirach, issued through Supreme Chaos Records under catalog number SCR-VL011. The record is cataloged under the genres of Abstract, Pornogrind, and Rock.

The release spreads seven tracks across two sides. The A-side opens with "Taylor Rain (You're A Freak)" at one minute and fifty-six seconds, followed by "Return Of The Cliteating Clique" at thirty seconds, and "Anti-PC-Crew," which clocks in at just six seconds. The A-side concludes with the title track "Pimps Of Gore" at one minute and forty-five seconds and "Sextravaganza Speciale" at forty-one seconds. The B-side carries two tracks: "Public Animal No.1" at one minute and nine seconds, and "Strawsuckers," the release's longest cut, running three minutes and fifty-one seconds.

The track durations on the A-side reflect a format familiar to extreme and underground music communities, where brevity is a common structural choice. The majority of the A-side's five tracks fall well under two minutes, with "Anti-PC-Crew" representing an extreme example at six seconds. The B-side shifts the pacing somewhat, with "Strawsuckers" accounting for the bulk of that side's runtime.

The combination of Gut, a German band associated with the pornogrind subgenre, and Otto Von Schirach, a Miami-based producer associated with abstract electronic music, represents a cross-genre collaboration documented on this release. Supreme Chaos Records, the issuing label, is a German imprint with ties to underground metal and extreme music releases.
