Listening notes
Released by Nuclear Blast in 2017 under catalog number NB 3751-0, The Vinyl Collection gathers eleven HammerFall titles into a single box set spanning multiple vinyl discs. The set is classified under the genres of Heavy Metal, Power Metal, and Rock.
The collection brings together the studio albums Glory To The Brave, Legacy Of Kings, Renegade, Crimson Thunder, Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken, Threshold, No Sacrifice, No Victory, Infected, and (r)Evolution, alongside the covers and rarities compilation Masterpieces. Rounding out the package are two live records, Gates Of Dalhalla Part 1 and Gates Of Dalhalla Part 2, which together present an extended concert program spread across six sides of vinyl.
The disc configurations vary across the set. Several of the studio records occupy a single two-sided disc, while others extend to double-disc formats. Masterpieces fills four sides across two records, as does Infected. The two Gates Of Dalhalla volumes each occupy two discs, bringing the total physical count to a substantial number of individual platters. The format listing also indicates the inclusion of All Media components at certain points in the sequence, though the specific nature of those materials is not detailed in the available data.
Track durations across the set range from under two minutes — Lore Of The Arcane on Crimson Thunder clocks in at 1:27 — to the twelve-minute-plus Knights Of The 21st Century closing out Chapter V. The Gates Of Dalhalla live records include a Drum Solo segment listed at 3:12.
Fact checker note: The exact nature of the All Media components has not been confirmed and should be verified before publication. The spelling of "Treshold" on Gates Of Dalhalla Part 2 Side A appears to differ from the standard album spelling and warrants confirmation against the physical label copy.
