Listening notes

In Extremo's Limited 8-Vinyl Collection 1998–2013 is a box set released in 2015 on Universal Music Group under catalog number 602547375155. The set compiles material drawn from the Berlin-based group's output across a fifteen-year span and is spread across eight vinyl records, designated through side pairings running from A/B to O/P, with the interior sides labeled through the alphabet accordingly.

The collection is organized around the titles of the individual albums represented within it. Distinct header titles — Weckt Die Toten!, Verehrt Und Angespien, Sünder Ohne Zügel, 7, Mein Rasend Herz, Sængerkrieg, Sterneneisen, and Kunstraub — appear in the tracklist without side or position assignments, functioning as album dividers rather than playable tracks. This structural feature allows the listener or researcher to identify which portion of the sequence corresponds to which release.

The tracklist runs to well over one hundred individual tracks in total. The set is catalogued under the genres Folk Metal, Folk, World, and Country, and Rock, which reflects the group's documented practice of combining medieval and traditional source material — including Latin, German, Scandinavian, and Galician-Portuguese texts — with contemporary rock instrumentation. This is visible across the tracklist in titles drawn from multiple linguistic traditions, among them Palästinalied, Merseburger Zaubersprüche, Krummavisur, Villeman Og Magnhild, and Fontaine La Jolie, alongside German-language compositions and at least one cover, This Corrosion, occupying position D3.

The format designation in the release data lists eight separate vinyl entries alongside the box set classification, consistent with the A-through-P side labeling observed across the tracklist. The set's year of issue is 2015. No additional verified information regarding pressing specifications, personnel, or edition size is available from the source data.
