Infected Rain
Ecdysis

Listening notes

Infected Rain's *Ecdysis*, released in 2022 on Napalm Records (catalog number NPR1002VINYL), is the vinyl edition of the Moldovan band's studio album. The record spans twelve tracks distributed across two sides, with six tracks on the A side and six on the B side.

The album's title references the biological process of shedding an outer layer — a fitting frame for a record that opens and closes with linked pieces. "Postmortem Pt1" occupies the first position on Side A, while "Postmortem Pt2" closes Side B, giving the album a deliberate structural symmetry that bookends the ten tracks between them. Titles such as "Fighter," "Longing," "Goodbye," "Everlasting Lethargy," "Showers," and "November" suggest a thematic attention to emotional states, though any reading of lyrical content falls outside what can be confirmed here.

The genres associated with the release — Alternative Rock, Melodic Death Metal, Metalcore, Nu Metal, and Rock — span a notably wide range, pointing to a band that draws from multiple heavy music traditions rather than operating within a single stylistic boundary. Whether and how those genre tags are distributed across individual tracks is not something the available information can settle.

Napalm Records, the Austrian label behind the release, has an established presence in heavy and alternative music. Track durations are not available in the current documentation, so the total runtime of the vinyl edition cannot be stated with accuracy.
