Released in 2019 on F.O.A.D. Records (catalog number F.O.A.D. 165), Insect Warfare's Entomological Siege 2004/2009 is a multi-format compilation spanning six sides of vinyl and a DVD. Catalogued under the genres of grindcore, noise, and rock, the set draws from a range of source recordings made between 2004 and 2009.
The vinyl portion moves chronologically through a sequence of previously issued releases. Side A opens with material from the 2004 "Gulf Coast Infestation" demo and the 2005 "At War With Grindcore" EP, the latter also yielding one previously unreleased track listed simply as "Untitled." Subsequent sides draw from a 2006 split with Bolt Stein, the 2006 release Endless Execution Thru Violent Restitution, a 2006 split with Hated Surge, a 2007 split with Carcass Grinder, and the 2007 "Evolved Into Obliteration" EP. The tracklist also incorporates contributions to two compilations — "Trapped In A Scene" (2007) and "This Comp Kills Fascists" (2008) — alongside material from a 2008 split with Agoraphobic Nosebleed, a 2008 split with Flagitious Idiosyncrasy In The Dilapidation, a track from the Grind Bastards #2 compilation, and the 2009 self-titled release credited as "Noise Grind Power Death," represented here by 53 untitled tracks. Alternative recordings of the Carcass Grinder split tracks, dated 2006, also appear on side D.
Two live radio sessions are included on vinyl: one recorded at KJFC Radio with Unholy Grave, and one at KURX 91.7 in Austin. The DVD documents a live performance at Annie's in San Francisco on March 11, 2007, comprising fifteen tracks.
Covers on the set include Celtic Frost's "Into The Crypt Of Rays," Razor's "Behind Bars," and Napalm Death's "Caught In A Dream," each identified as such in the tracklist. The title "False Grind Alienation" appears on the Carcass Grinder split material, while the alternative recording of the same session lists the track as "False God Alienation" — a discrepancy fact checkers may wish to verify against source materials.
