Jan Groth
The Vinyl Albums (1980-1986)

Listening notes

Released in 2009 on Jan Groth's own imprint, Jan Groth Music (catalog number JGM 001), The Vinyl Albums (1980-1986) is a CD compilation drawing together material from four of the artist's albums recorded across a six-year span. The release is catalogued under the genres of Pop, Pop Rock, Rock, and Religious.

The set is organized across four discrete discs, each corresponding to a separate original album. The first disc presents the album Good To Know ...Where You're Going, collecting ten tracks including "Peace Like A River," "Count On Me," and "In The Shelter Of Your Love." The second disc, Circle Of Love, runs to another ten tracks, among them "The King Has Come," "Shine Your Light," and "He Really Loves You," and notably includes what appear to be alternate or additional versions of "Peace Like A River" and "Count On Me," titles shared with the first disc. The third disc, Roots, offers ten tracks with titles such as "I Can't Fly," "Lie Is Not Truth," and "Lighthouse." The fourth disc, Ready To Ride, closes the set with ten tracks, including "Dying World," which appears twice in sequence at positions 4-3 and 4-4, a detail that may warrant verification against the original source material.

Duration information is not available for any of the individual tracks. Personnel, production credits, and liner note details are likewise not documented in the available data.

For researchers and collectors interested in Jan Groth's recorded output from the early to mid-1980s, this compilation represents a documented point of access to material originally issued on vinyl, gathered here under a single self-released CD edition. As with all entries in this database, specific claims beyond what is listed above should be independently verified before publication.
