Vinyl Confessions

Listening notes

Kansas released Vinyl Confessions in 1982 on the CBS/Sony label. This Japanese pressing carries the catalog number 25AP 2364 and is classified under the genres of Pop Rock, Prog Rock, and Rock.

The album contains ten tracks spread across two sides. Side A opens with "Play The Game Tonight" at 3:24, followed by "Right Away" at 4:03, "Fair Exchange" at 4:56, "Chasing Shadows" at 3:17, and "Diamonds And Pearls" at 4:47. Side B runs with "Face It" at 4:15, "Windows" at 3:29, "Borderline" at 3:57, "Play On" at 3:30, and closes with "Crossfire," the album's longest track at 6:33.

The ten-track sequence runs a total of approximately 42 minutes across both sides, with the runtime distributed fairly evenly between them. Side A accounts for just over 20 minutes, while Side B, anchored by the extended closing track "Crossfire," runs slightly longer. The presence of multiple tracks under four minutes alongside the longer "Fair Exchange," "Diamonds And Pearls," and "Crossfire" reflects a tracklist that mixes shorter and more extended compositions within the album's running order.

The CBS/Sony label and 25AP catalog prefix are consistent with Japanese domestic pressings of the period, placing this edition within a well-documented series of releases issued for the Japanese market during the early 1980s.
