Vinyl Confessions

Listening notes

Kansas released Vinyl Confessions on the Kirshner label in 1982, issued with catalog number FZ 38002. The record is categorized under Pop Rock, Prog Rock, and Rock.

The album is a standard single LP divided across two sides, each containing five tracks. Side A opens with "Play The Game Tonight" at 3:24, followed by "Right Away" at 4:03, "Fair Exchange" at 4:56, "Chasing Shadows" at 3:17, and "Diamonds And Pearls" at 4:47. Side B runs through "Face It" at 4:15, "Windows" at 3:29, "Borderline" at 3:57, "Play On" at 3:30, and closes with "Crossfire," the album's longest track at 6:33.

The ten-track sequence totals approximately 42 minutes of playing time. The genre designations — Pop Rock, Prog Rock, and Rock — place the release at a point where those categories are listed together without further qualification, which may be of interest to collectors attempting to situate the record within the band's catalog.

Vinyl Confessions carries the Kirshner imprint, a label with prior association with the band. The FZ prefix on the catalog number follows Columbia Records distribution formatting conventions of the era, though collectors should verify specific pressing and distribution details independently before drawing conclusions about manufacturing origin.
