Remastered In Vinyl IV

Listening notes

Released in 2018 on Kate Bush's own Fish People label, Remastered In Vinyl IV (catalog number 0190295593926) is the fourth installment in her vinyl remastering series, presented as a four-LP box set spanning eight sides of material drawn from across her catalog.

The set is organized into four distinct sections. The first, titled "12″ Mixes," collects extended and alternate versions of several well-known tracks across sides A and B, including the Meteorological Mix of "The Big Sky," the Orgonon Mix of "Cloudbusting," an Alternative Mix of "Hounds Of Love," and an Extended Mix of "Experiment IV," alongside "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)." Sides C and D, grouped under "The Other Side 1," bring together a range of B-sides, non-album tracks, and rarities, among them "Ne T'Enfuis Pas" and "Un Baiser D'Enfant," as well as a 2012 Remix of "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)." The third section, "The Other Side 2," continues across sides E and F with additional non-album material including "December Will Be Magic Again" and a version of "Wuthering Heights" identified as a remix featuring a new vocal from The Whole Story. The final section, "In Others' Words," spans sides G and H and presents Bush's recorded interpretations of songs by other writers, including "Rocket Man," "Sexual Healing," "The Man I Love," and "Candle In The Wind," among others.

The genres listed for the release include Alternative Rock, Art Rock, Pop, Pop Rock, and Rock. As with the other volumes in the remastering series, the release was issued under Fish People, the label Bush established for her own catalogue.
